When HOLO Footwear set up a new HQ, they called in West Elm to give their offices the comforts of home
Stepping up office style
Great design. Great style. A brighter future for our planet. The people at HOLO Footwear aimed to showcase the same values in their new offices as they do with their shoes. Founded in 2020 by Rommel Vega and Yuri Rodriguez, HOLO makes cool, beautifully designed and sustainable shoes for running, lifestyle and hiking. In fall 2022, they relocated from Portland, Oregon, to Grand Rapids, Michigan, and called in West Elm’s Business to Business designers to customize an inspiring headquarters where their team can not only work, create and collaborate, but also host investors and distributors.
“We all got used to working from home, and I wanted that vibe at our HQ—soft textures, warm colors and a modern aesthetic.”—Rommel Vega, CEO
Furniture that flexes
The West Elm Business to Business design services team went with contract-grade furniture and a floor plan that flex to meet the needs of the HOLO team, whether they’re working solo, meeting as a team, breaking out in small groups or lounging. The designers brought in Quint Workspaces height-adjustable desks, task seating, storage and privacy panels.
“Through the pandemic, we learned that spaces that allow privacy, comfort, collaboration and versatility have become extremely important to workers’ productivity and happiness as they return to office,” says Kimberly Esasky with the West Elm Business team.
Instant warmth
To warm up the overall look, designers brought in Shaw Contract + West Elm carpet tiles in a range of subtle patterns that, once installed, almost look like art. The team rounded out the design with contract-grade West Elm lounge furniture, Quint work stations and seating, versatile lighting and LightCorp planters for a natural touch that supports HOLO’s commitment to sustainability.
